TREATMENT APPROACH

Every child follows a learning program designed according to their own ability, addressing development across seven key areas: social, communication, language, emotional, physical, intellectual, and academic. We accommodate a range of learning styles — auditory, visual/spatial, kinesthetic, logical, and linguistic — so every child engages in the way that suits them best. Beyond academics, the program builds activities of daily living (ADL) skills, personal skills, communication skills, and social skills, with the aim of making each child as capable and independent as possible. Our multidisciplinary team continuously reassesses progress and adjusts the plan so therapy evolves alongside the child.

OUR CREDENTIALS & TEAM

Our facility is staffed by UK & USA qualified Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and Neurologists, working alongside dedicated occupational therapists, speech therapists, ABA therapists, behavior specialists, nutritionists, specialized teaching experts, and rTMS specialists. This combined expertise allows us to deliver assessment, diagnosis, and therapy under a single coordinated OPD roof.

WHO WE HELP

We support children and families navigating Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, speech and communication difficulties, and emotional or psychological concerns — guiding every child from a dependent starting point towards greater independence.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Following a comprehensive assessment, our team works on multiple areas at once, identifying each child’s deficit areas and tailoring the plan to remediate them individually. This helps every child use their full potential, promotes wellbeing, and supports independence to the fullest extent with the help of our experts.

Autism Spectrum Disorder

UNDERSTANDING AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects a person’s ability to communicate, interact socially, and engage in repetitive behaviors. It can be diagnosed in early childhood, typically around age 2–3, and is a lifelong condition. ASD is referred to as a spectrum disorder because it encompasses a wide range of symptoms and severity levels — some individuals with ASD have significant intellectual and language impairments, while others have average or above-average intelligence.

The prevalence of ASD in Pakistan is estimated to be similar to the global prevalence of approximately 1 in 160 children. In 2017, the estimated prevalence of ASD in Karachi was 1.3%, and in 2019 the estimated prevalence among school-age children in Lahore was 1.45%. Many cases in Pakistan may still go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed due to limited awareness and resources for autism diagnosis and treatment — underscoring the need for greater awareness, education, and access to diagnosis and treatment resources.

CAUSES OF ASD

  • Genetic factors — a family history of autism increases likelihood; several associated genes have been identified, though no single gene has been found to cause autism
  • Environmental factors — exposure to toxins such as air pollution, pesticides, and heavy metals during pregnancy or early childhood, and maternal infections during pregnancy
  • Brain development — differences in the structure and function of areas such as the amygdala and prefrontal cortex during early childhood
  • Other factors — preterm birth, low birth weight, and exposure to certain medications during pregnancy

SOCIAL COMMUNICATION SYMPTOMS

  • Delayed or absent speech — may not start speaking until later than usual, or not speak at all
  • Difficulty initiating and maintaining conversations — struggling to start, sustain, or take turns in conversation
  • Difficulty understanding nonverbal cues — trouble reading facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice
  • Difficulty with figurative language — taking language literally and struggling with metaphors or idioms

SOCIAL INTERACTION SYMPTOMS

  • Difficulty making friends — struggling to initiate and maintain friendships with peers
  • Lack of interest in socializing — preferring solitary activities over spending time with others
  • Difficulty understanding social norms — trouble with unwritten rules such as taking turns or respecting personal space
  • Difficulty with empathy — struggling to understand and respond to others’ emotions
Our Process

HOW YOUR CHILD’S INDIVIDUAL PLAN IS FORMULATED

Our rehabilitation program is divided into three main developmental stages that take your child towards independence. These stages help us identify each individual’s strengths, the areas to work on, their need for behavioral modification, and their physical and sensory needs — on which our client’s individual developmental plan is finalized.

FIRST STAGE

  • Rehabilitation urgency
  • Client’s level of motivation
  • Client level of skill functioning

SECOND STAGE

  • Develop major program steps
  • Sequence major program steps
  • Develop and sequence necessary secondary steps

THIRD STAGE

  • Develop timeliness for major steps
  • Develop reinforcement steps
  • Implement necessary teaching steps
  • Monitor client performance

SELF-CARE & DAILY LIVING SKILLS (ADL)

Self-care skills are the skills a person needs on a daily basis to live independently. Teaching independent self-care is a process that begins at birth and continues into adulthood — learning everyday functional skills helps build independence, self-esteem, and success across multiple environments.

  • Eating
  • Dressing
  • Bathing
